Trip Overview
This five-day journey through Australia's Red Centre showcases the region's most iconic natural landmarks — Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and Kings Canyon. Expect dramatic sunrises and sunsets, guided walks through ancient landscapes, and insight into the world's oldest living culture. This itinerary is designed as a flexible framework that can be tailored to your pace and interests.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
DAY 1 ARRIVAL & SUNSET AT ULURU
Arrive at Ayers Rock Airport and transfer to your resort in the heart of the Red Centre. With the afternoon free to settle in, head out in the late afternoon to a dedicated viewing area to watch Uluru change colour as the sun sets — one of the most iconic sights in Australia. Enjoy canapés and sparkling wine as the rock glows deep red against the desert sky. Overnight at Uluru.
DAY 2 ULURU SUNRISE & BASE WALK
Rise early for a spectacular sunrise over Uluru, best viewed from a designated sunrise-viewing area as the first light hits the monolith. Afterwards, join a guided walk around the base of Uluru with an experienced guide, learning about the rock's geology, Anangu culture, and the significance of its waterholes, caves, and rock art. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the Cultural Centre or relax at the resort. Overnight at Uluru.
DAY 3 KATA TJUTA (THE OLGAS)
Head to Kata Tjuta, a striking group of 36 domed rock formations rising from the desert around 40 kilometres from Uluru. Join a guided walk into Walpa Gorge, a naturally cool corridor between two of the tallest domes, home to unique plant life sheltered from the harsh desert climate. Return to the resort by afternoon, with time to relax or take in another sunset over the desert landscape. Overnight at Uluru.
DAY 4 KINGS CANYON
Travel to Watarrka National Park for a full day exploring Kings Canyon, one of the most dramatic landscapes in Central Australia. Choose between the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, a guided trek along the canyon's sandstone dome formations and the lush Garden of Eden waterhole, or the flatter Kings Creek Walk at the canyon's base for a gentler pace. Transfer to your Kings Canyon accommodation for the night. Overnight at Kings Canyon.
DAY 5 DEPARTURE
At leisure before your transfer to the airport for your onward or homebound flight. End of services.
