Trip Overview

This seven-day journey along Western Australia's southwest coast pairs Perth's riverside city life with the island charm of Rottnest and the wine country of Margaret River. From quokka encounters and heritage Fremantle to boutique wineries, limestone caves, and dramatic coastline, this itinerary is designed as a flexible framework that can be tailored to your pace and interests.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1  ARRIVAL IN PERTH

Arrive in Perth and transfer privately to your hotel. With the rest of the day at leisure, stroll along the Elizabeth Quay waterfront or relax in Kings Park, which offers sweeping views over the Swan River and city skyline. Overnight in Perth.

DAY 2  PERTH & FREMANTLE

Spend the morning discovering Perth's city sights, then head to the historic port city of Fremantle. Explore its heritage streetscape, browse the Fremantle Markets, and visit Fremantle Prison, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed convict site. Overnight in Perth.

DAY 3  ROTTNEST ISLAND

Take the ferry to Rottnest Island, a car-free island paradise known for its turquoise bays and resident quokkas. Hire a bicycle to explore the island's coastline, stop for a swim at one of its many secluded beaches, and keep an eye out for a quokka selfie along the way. Return to Perth by evening. Overnight in Perth.

DAY 4  MARGARET RIVER

Travel south to Margaret River, the heart of Western Australia's premier wine region. Visit a selection of the region's boutique wineries for tastings, paired with produce from the area's renowned food scene. Overnight in Margaret River.

DAY 5  MARGARET RIVER CAVES & COASTLINE

Explore the limestone cave systems that run beneath the Margaret River region, such as Lake Cave or Mammoth Cave, before heading to the coast to see Cape Leeuwin or Cape Naturaliste lighthouse, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Overnight in Margaret River.

DAY 6  LEISURE DAY

A free day to explore Margaret River at your own pace — return to a favourite winery, browse the region's galleries and artisan producers, or simply relax at your accommodation. Overnight in Margaret River.

DAY 7  DEPARTURE

At leisure before your private transfer to Perth Airport for your onward or homebound flight. End of services.
